Chiropractic Techniques
We use a number of highly-effective analysis and treatment approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on your history and the results of a thorough examination.
The primary adjusting techniques we use include:
Gonstead System
Named for its developer, Dr. Clarence Gonstead, this in-depth system of chiropractic analysis and treatment is based on sound engineering principles... read more»
Cranial Adjusting Turner Style (CATS)
Developed over a 20-year period by world-renowned Canadian chiropractor, Dr. Roger Turner, CATS is the most direct, fast acting cranial technique we have seen...read more»
Neuro Emotional Technique (NET)
This technique is based on the ancient oriental principles of energy flow, chiropractic principles (specifically, Applied Kinesiology) medical bio feedback, and psychology. It addresses a major piece of the puzzle in non responsive health problems, namely, abnormal physiologic response loops which have been set-up by past emotional stress or trauma. It is a physical, as opposed to a psychological, technique in which the patient participates with the doctor to first identify present and past stresses causing their ill-health, then cancel the associated persistent physiologic loops. To do this, the person focuses on the event which created the physiology while holding certain reflex points, then the doctor taps other reflex points along the spine. This technique does not involve hypnosis or anything spiritual. The patient is in full control of what they want to accomplish and how far they want to go with the therapy. Applied Kinesiology/Muscle Balancing
We use muscle balancing to help regain stability in a chronic problem area (ie; recurrent lower back and/or leg problems, shoulder conditions, etc.) Reflex points are stimulated by hand or laser to strengthen weak muscles which have lost their normal tone or ability to contract at full strength due to trauma, chronic pain, internal organ weakness, or a body chemistry imbalance.
Insight Millennium Subluxation Station
By conducting an initial exam, before starting treatment, and periodic follow up exams, the effectiveness of treatment can be properly monitored...read more»
If you’ve been to a chiropractor before and prefer to be adjusted in a particular way, please let our office know when you make your initial appointment. We want you to relax, enjoy and fully benefit from your chiropractic care.
Massage Therapy/Body Work
Relaxation Massage
A gentle, smooth massage that promotes general relaxation, improves circulation and range of motion.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage focuses on realigning deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. It is especially helpful for chronically tense contracted areas. The massage movement is slower and pressure is deeper.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger points are hyperirritable nodules which can be palpated in taut bands of muscle fibers. A trigger point is tender when compressed and will often refer pain to other areas of the body.
Trigger point therapy is used to release the tension within the muscle by “working out” the nodules. There is discomfort during the release of a nodule, but great relief of pain is usually achieved.
Foot Reflexology
This type of massage stimulates points on the feet which correspond to specific glands, organs, and other areas of the body. It improves circulation, relieves tension, and in general helps to normalize the function of the related tissues.
Other Techniques
Infrared Heat & Massage/Acupressure Beds
Primarily used after spinal adjustments to further restore mobility to the joints, loosen scar tissue and calcium deposits, and relax muscles, thereby making the adjustments more complete and longer lasting. This therapy accelerates results, and in many cases, allows for maintenance adjustments to be scheduled further apart.
Ultrasound Therapy
Used in acute situations on the first several visits where there is severe pain, swelling, and muscle spasm. It partially decreases the swelling and muscle spasm prior to an adjustment. This allows for a more effective mobilization of the bone and quicker resolution of the inflammation and pain.
“Cold” Laser
Cold laser is extremely safe and of benefit in virtually every health condition. It is called cold because it does not emit or produce any heat, therefore, it will not burn tissue. There has never been a recorded adverse affect in over 25 years of use of this type of laser.
Laser therapy literally infuses the tissue being treated with energy so it can regenerate itself, and has application in acute and chronic conditions. It is particularly effective in strengthening weak muscles, relieving pain, and reducing recovery time; in many cases by as much as 50%.
